About me
I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Literacy and Learning at Aurora University teaching Reading Methods for grades 3-5 and Reading Across the Curriculum at the secondary level. I hold a doctorate degree from Aurora University in Curriculum and Instruction. I am a former elementary teacher with experience teaching all grades K-5, including my most recent role as a Gifted Education Resource Teacher. One of my interests in education is introducing students as young as kindergarten to philosophy. Children wonder about and ask big questions. Philosophy gives them a space to do it. I enjoy going into classrooms to facilitate philosophical discussions using children's books as a springboard.
