About me
Cynthia Martinez is an 8th grade Social Studies teacher and Kane County Educator of the Year for 2023. She is currently teaching at Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy, a magnet school for District 131. Known for its rigorous academic standards, FRMA serves a diverse student body, with many students performing at or above grade level. Teachers here work to design and implement challenging curricula for high-achieving students while also encouraging all students to reach their fullest potential.
In addition to academic rigor, Cynthia embraces the multicultural richness of the classroom. The school’s diverse population includes many multilingual students, which presents both challenges and unique opportunities. Cynthia and Laura Krueger (Language Arts teacher and co-presenter) skillfully integrate this linguistic diversity into the learning experience, fostering an inclusive atmosphere where every student’s background is valued and leveraged for academic growth.
